At the start of our essential oil journey I have to admit that I was really skeptical about how effective the oils really were and if I could really justify investing in them. It was hard to believe that they would work well enough that we could replace over-the-counter medicine with essential oils. So my dilemma was, how do I use these oils with an open mind and not "will" a result either way. After struggling with this for a little while I noticed something interesting. Our little 9 month old was teething and the only thing I knew to give her to help with the pain at night was Tylenol for infants.  Then I was introduced to Lavender, my wife told me to put it on her feet, back, and also rub it on her gums, so I gave it a try. From the first time I used Lavender on her gums I could tell that she calmed down so much faster than with Tylenol! night after night I would use the Lavender and I was able to get her back to sleep faster and faster ( which in turn got me to bed faster as well). I could see how well the Lavender had worked and it felt good to be able to give my child something that didn't have the side effects like we see in most over the counter products. I also came to the realization that there was no way for me to "will" this to work on my daughter. She either stopped hurting and crying, or didn't. She has no idea what it was that I was giving her, she didn't have an opinion either way. I knew at that time that this essential oil stuff was the real deal and that I needed to give it a fair chance. Our daughter is now 20 months and we have never had to take her to the Doctor for any type of illness, just her regular checkups. We haven't had to fill one prescription for her. We have been able to treat every cold, ear infection, sore tooth, bump, and scrape with the Doterra oils . Seeing how healthy she is, has for sure made me a believer.

 The oils are amazing! I tried them on my autistic son (20). He NEVER sits down and watches a tv show with my husband and I. Well, the other night he sat down and watched the whole show! He loves the oil and the smell. I have been experimenting with the oil and deep tissue massage on him and he just loves it. It is so nice to have something that relaxes his vestibular system. His true personality has really sparkled in such a short amount of time.

I just watched the most amazing video that I just have to share. I have no idea who this family is but their story is so sweet. I LOVE that there are millions of stories like this and LOVE that I am using these amazing oils on my family.

One day I sat in Pat's office telling her about my 4yr old's hyper active behavior during a reading class we were enrolled in, and how discouraged I was feeling about being able to control my son in the class room setting. She told me that she was going to a meeting and would find out what is the best oil for those types of issues. The next time I saw her she told me about the Peaceful Child blend. I was very interested, she gave me the bottle and I used it immediately that night after bath time. I rolled it on my son’s feet and left him sitting in his room with a book. Normally in that situation he would be up and running as soon as I walk out the door way. When I returned a few minutes later he was still looking through the book. I took note but wasn't convinced the oil was the reason.

 

The real test came that following Saturday at reading class. I did everything exactly the same as the week before, that had been so frustrating. Except this time I rolled the oil on his feet before we got out of the car. In class he was observant and paid attention to the teacher, he participated and raised his hands to answer questions. I was so happy, I felt like there was significant improvement from the week before. We used Peaceful Child throughout the remainder of the reading classes and had amazing results. I also use it on my son when I see a temper tantrum coming on. I use it for my 2yr old son as well as needed. Peaceful Child improves my children's moods, they are more easy going, respectful, and happy.

Both my sons know what to do when we are using oils, they lift up their feet in preparation of getting oils rubbed on them and enjoy rubbing oils on their feet and tummies. DoTerra oils have improved the quality of my life and the life of my children. I love them. I love the Peaceful Child blend. I am so grateful that Pat has the knowledge she does and came to me with this suggestion. Thank you Pat!
